   About Keith

Keith Rodenhuis is Orange County’s Deputy Treasurer. Rodenhuis won the June 2010 Primary Election to become the next OC Treasurer when over 130,000 Orange County voters went to the polls to cast a ballot for Keith.

As Deputy Treasurer, Rodenhuis is a fiduciary for the $6+ Billion County and Education investment pools and the $7.5 Billion employee pension fund – in aggregate he has direct oversight of over $13 Billion of public funds.

While serving as the County’s Deputy Treasurer, Rodenhuis has focused on cutting costs by streamlining government services. The Treasurer’s office voluntarily cut their budget and came in under budget each year of Rodenhuis’ tenure. In 2008, the Orange County Treasurer’s office received national recognition by the National Association of Counties for their success in streamlining services and making government more efficient.

During Rodenhuis time as Deputy Treasurer, the $6 billion Orange County investment pools earned Standard & Poor’s highest rating for safety and liquidity. Orange County was the first County in the Nation, and the only municipal treasurer’s office in the State of California to have received this pristine rating.

Prior to joining the Orange County Treasurer’s Office he worked as a financial advisor and stockbroker for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and State Farm Financial Services. He has been registered with the National Association of Security Dealers, the Security and Exchange Commission and has earned his Series 7, 3 and 31 licenses.

Deputy Treasurer Rodenhuis is also an attorney who graduated from the Whittier College School of Law, located in Costa Mesa, California, with a concentration in Business Law. Rodenhuis was a successful student and a member of the Dean’s Merit List for academic achievement, the Trial Advocacy Honor’s Board, and the Moot Court Honor’s Board. His classroom success culminated in his being asked to deliver the Commencement Address. Rodenhuis, a practicing attorney, is President of Whittier Law School’s Orange County Alumni Association.

Deputy Treasurer Rodenhuis was born and raised in Southern California and resides in Costa Mesa. He is the proud uncle of an adorable 4 year old niece. Keith is active in the community, donating his time and talents to victims of domestic violence and at risk youth through not for profit organizations such as the ELAN Project.
